Mother's Day has always been hard for me---I've been wanting to be a mother for so long---and the years kept going by and I was wishing everyone else Happy Mother's Day. Last year was the absolute hardest---we were in the waiting stages and just never knew when "the call" was coming and wanting it to come before Mother's Day sooooooooooooooooo bad. But everything happens for a reason, and God has his own timing on things.
But, this year, I am able to celebrate Mother's Day and am thrilled to pieces! AND my son is perfection beyond words. To top it all off, my Mom was here with me to celebrate Mother's Day---so basically, my day was perfect!! AND a perk of having your Mom here for the weekend is she wants to have some "bonding time" with Myles, which means Peggi and Matthew can go out to dinner! Something we haven't done yet since bring Myles home! it was WONDERFUL and a Win-Win for everyone involved! But of course, we talked about Myles the whole time we were out. We're still newbies at this, give us a break.
In adoption, the day before/saturday before Mothers Day, we honor the birth mother's of our children on "Birth Mother's Day" ..sadly, Hallmark hasn't caught onto this holiday yet--but I was able to finally find ONE card company that knew of the holiday and had cards. Myles' birthmother is one amazing woman who sacraficed more than anything I could ever phathom. She is beautiful, selfless, corageous and awesome. if you know of any women who have placed their children to adoption, please recognize them as it is a very bittersweet day.
